Sara martins hard to leave death in paradise

Sara martins says that the reason why the producers didn't want her character to be killed off like Ben miller was because there's a possibility that she could always come back! So who knows am keeping my fingers crossed

reply

I am really hoping she'd come back.

The show quality was kinda wonky when Ben M. left and after Sara left, it went even worse, IMO.

In my humble opinion, it is a great thing that Sara Martins left "Death in Paradise.". Her character was much too butch. Her replacement, Joséphine Jobert, as "Florence," is beautiful and far more feminine as the DS (Detective Sergeant) of the Honore PD.

Joséphine is a worthy second-in-command behind Kris Marshall's Humphrey Goodman as the chief detective.

Cheers,
Dan

God Bless America!

@daneldorado totally agree with you. Joséphine Jobert has two major plus: damn cutie; her role is far more active than Sara had.
Still, ... I'd say that Sara is much better as an actress. IMHO.
I like Kris Marshall's Humphrey Goodman

reply

" Much too butch" - that is so hilarious . Obviously you do not like real women with attitude . If they had made her a lesbian that would have been great!!!

reply

I just looked up photos of Joséphine Jobert, and she doesn't compare to the beauty of Sara Martins. Joséphine is just average in looks; nothing special. Sara is gorgeous and entrancing, with her shapely figure, great legs, lovely eyes, etc. There is not an ounce of butchness in Sara's appearance, style or energy.

The series died (in paradise, no less) with Richard Poole and the departure of Camille is the final shovel of dirt on the grave.

Best films ever:

Snakes on a Plane
Snakes on a Train
Snakes on a Crane
Snakes on Mark Twain

I've come to prefer Kris Marshall's Humph.
Richard Poole's constant carping about the heat while dressing for an English winter became downright silly.
I think the dynamic has changed for the better too, now that Camille has left.
I like strong female characters, but Camille just came across as permanently grumpy.
I like the new girl.

You do realize a character's actions are dictated by the script and director, right?

Sara Martins butch? What are you smoking? She's totally beautiful and spunky. Her attitude just enhances the character and it's hardly mean spirited or nasty. I ended up liking Kris Humphries but I won't continue to watch the show without Camille.

reply

There was nothing butch about Camille. Her personality had some sharp angles, but deep down she was kind and thoughtful, and she had great chemistry with both Richard and Humphrey. Yes, Florence is nicer, but she's also bland.
