who loves this show
best thing on Tv! cheesy funny brilliant
just miss Camille :(
Love it as well, I don't miss Camille at all however. Not that I would mind if she'd return, but I'm not missing her. :D
share. After last nights episode I officially prefer it to the original series now. All the characters are developing together and growing nicely,
I really like how they are bonding together
I don't miss the old cast at all.
l hope this team stay together.
I agree although I could do with a bit more Don Warrington!
shareSorry, but I still think the DCI Pool series (first two) are still the best.. But I do like Florence A LOT more than I did Camile, I always thought of her as a bit of a whiner.. But I wouldn't mind the return of Camile..
shareI really like it, just as good as its always been, humphrey is good, the new girl is better than camille, the last episode that aired, about Cedrick and the four musketeers was as good an episode before. Really enjoying it, hope it gets another series.
I agree, especially about Camille. I didn't hate her but, looking back, it seems as if her main contribution to the show was posing, not acting. Poole was great but that fish-out-of-water schtick would've gotten old if it continued much longer. Humphrey has such a collection of neuroses to explore.
shareBut she contributes very little aside 'do u want me to get everyone together'
She always answers a question with another question and asks 'what are we going to to?'
as a senior member of the police force surly she should use some initiative
in that respect Camille did give as good as she got and showed she earned her place on the team
It's hard to relate to a police show set in a filthy vicious city (all the New York ones), in a sunny vicious city (all the L.A.ones), or in a freezing cold dark vicious city (all the English ones).
It's a blast to see people in sunshine, having fun, relating as people, and just being happy.
Camille's character LoveD Richard Poole.
(She'll be an old maid.)
Humphrey has ZERO sex appeal.
But the show is still fun, and DWAYNE (Danny John-Jules)and the COMMISSIONER (Don Warrington) are who I look forward to watching.
I wish they would do a show built around the COMMISSIONER.
"We will bury you"-NIKITA KHRUSHCHEV
Perhaps such a show might explain how a Commissioner is needed for a police force that seems to number just four people!
Seriously, I would like to see him have a more prominent role. Unless they film all his scenes in a series over a couple of days, Don Warrington must spend a lot of time hanging around for his couple of minutes' appearance in each episode - probably no great hardship in Martinique.
yep, it's got a great mood.

its one of favorite shows, I've watched each season two to three times.
Its too bad it takes so long for the episodes to become available on netflix in america; i think its one year after it airs on TV, and its not even available for purchase, i would gladly pay for them. I'm told its on PBS, but i don't have cable; i'm curious why some British TV shows are like this.
Have you considered paying for Acorn? It's about $5/month, and I think it's cheaper if you pay annually.
I haven't checked their content lately, but they have the most UK shows. You can always browse first...
This isn't on Acorn, unfortunately. I've been a subscriber for several years, but have only been able to watch this show via Netflix.

Thanks, I didn't know if it was on Acorn or not.
A new season just started on my local PBS station, but it started months ago on some stations on the east coast of the US. And, like you, I wait for it to show up on Netflix. (The PBS station isn't HD, so the Netflix version actually has better picture quality.)
I've watched the first 5 episodes of season 5 online, but I haven't been able to find episodes 6, 7 or 8. :-(

I just recorded and watched the first episode of season 5, hopefully they will show all the episodes.
Sometimes our local PBS will make some episodes available on their website for a few months after airing. Have you checked that as a possible site? Just a thought....
From what I can see, Season 5 hasn't officially been released in the US yet. I thought it had, but Amazon doesn't have any DVDs or Blu-rays that aren't imported from the UK, Same with Amazon.ca.

I quite like it, but much preferred Ben Miller to the new bloke. Don't really see why they keep having to being in English detectives. Why can't the local police solve the crimes?
shareIn the world of light hearted modern detective series, this hits the mark pretty high. The competition in the genre is stiff, so it's not necessarily in the same realm as the greatest detective series, but the exotic location and appealing characters goes a long way to helping it stand out.
shareMy hubby and I do. He found it browsing one evening a couple of years ago when season 3 started in the US. Because of that, we had no vested interest in Richard when he died. When hubby found seasons 1 through 4 on Netflix streaming, we started from the beginning. The second time we got to season 3, episode 1, I was really bummed because now we had the back story and cared about Richard--even though we knew how it would end.
I've liked all the characters and think both Richard and Humphrey have their own endearing quirks and charm.
Yep, it's just plain fun to watch.
Same here. The first episode I ever saw was Ep. 2 or 3 of S3. But I still think they handled Ben Miller's departure very badly; they should just have let him stay in London at the end of season 2.

Yeah, I like the show. I loved the first two seasons, though with Richard Poole & Camille. I really disliked the 3rd season & most of the 4th season. I felt there wasn't a lot of chemistry between the new & original actors on the series. BUT in this 5th season, things finally began to gel & the chemistry between all the actors has gotten a lot stronger & it's fun to watch. Still not like the first two seasons, but I do like it.
