Repeating Solutions (possible spoilers)

Series 4 episode 3- poisoning but how could only one person get the fatal dose- answer paper soaked in the poison. Series 5 episode 2 poisoning, but how could the poison be administered... answer paper soaked in the poison- and since we don't see this until the denouement there was no way of working it out this time... Not the first time this has happened- people finding the body is the murderer at least twice too... Need some fresh ideas!

I do agree, that season 5 had a bit of rehashed/dull cases, especially towards the end of the season. Also the cases seem more of a 'don't know, don't know, PING now I know' without actually showing more clues to the viewer..
But still, it stays a very entertaining series, and hopefully season 6 will have some better writers..

Sure there's been a couple of episodes where the murderer was hiding behind the door when someone found the body and stepped out after as if they followed him into the room

True, but I don't think the essence of "Death in Paradise" is in the cleverness of its plots. It's a colorful panorama of life in the Carribean, a living postcard, a travel brochure, a toes-in-the-sand template of how this laid-back part of this world lives.

They have also beaten having the 'wrong time of death' to death. It seems like every show starts out with everyone having an alibi, then they discover that they got the time of death wrong, and viola, nobody has an alibi.

Don't forget the poison-soaked postage stamps in the airline hostess episode.
