It isn't a show without Camille
We somehow transitioned when Ben left but losing Camille too is too much. Especially, where they are having the new girl act like her. It is a terrible shame. The show was fun. I am going to cancel my timer.

shareI can't stand her. Glad to hear she's gone at some point.
Both Camille and Florence are beautiful women but they're not very good actresses. Their characters are almost interchangeable and I think that's where the mistake was made. They should have replaced the Camille character with a very different character - someone that Humphrey could play off of. Sadly, Florence is just not part of the team. I'm hoping things will get better in the new season.
shareThis.
When Ben Miller left, it was wise to replace him with a very different character, even though it took a couple of episodes to get used to him. Camille and Florence both lack the acting range to really make anything out of their roles.
By Series 3, I think Camille was getting a little boring and repetitive.
shareI used to like Camille at the beginning, but she has become sarcastic, bossy, even to her own bosses AND keeps trying to shag DI Poole and DI Humphry. Her shorts can't get any shorter.
sharei don't care about Camille but i'm sad ben left. especially the horrible way he was written out.
shareLouise, Ben Miller wanted to be killed off. He has made it plain to the producers that he didnt want any chance of coming back as he found the shooting schedule far too grueling, and he missed his family too much.
Si vis pacem, para bellum
How bizarre. They couldn't have forced him to come back whatever happened to his character. That is really odd.
sharebut she doesn't challenge anyone, she contributes very little and I can't believe someone with such less initiative can be a senior member of the police.
honestly in last episode the only proactive thing she said was 'do U want me to get them out of the cell'
I just started watching on Netflix. I am in season 2. I had to come check the message boards to see if people felt the same way I did about Camille. She's so dull. She offers no insight and just petty jealousy. Her attitude is just tedious. They should have kept the first girl she replaced in the first episode. At least she had personality. Camille is just a pretty rock. I haven't gotten to the new people yet, but I can't imagine them being any better. Lol
shareI'm currently watching Season 4 so Camille is still in the show. However, I'm glad to hear she's leaving. I don't think the character nor the actress adds much to the show and I think her mother is far more interesting. The role of the mother offers more potential for plot and sub plot development. I don't care for Kris Marshall either, but the rest of the cast is okay by me, especially Dwayne.
A critic will point out your failings. An enemy will never tell you what you are doing wrong.

I heard the rumour that the last thing the actress playing Camille wanted was to become 'the girl', the token female madly in love with the leading man. What with the death of Richard Poole and the obvious relationship indications burgeoning with Humphrey it seemed to be inevitable that sooner or later a romantic entanglement would ensue between the leading characters, and the actress didn't want that. I had also noticed the connections with Doctor Who with a constantly rotating cast. I never really liked Poole but I do like Kris Marshall's bumbling inept but ultimately brilliant detective. When thy change actors is series another character is often changed as multiple changes make it easier for audience to accept the changes. I'm thinking mainly of Batman Forever, (Val Kilmer replaced Michael Keaton and Tommy Lee Jones replace Billy Dee Williams.
)
If I can't save you, I swear to God, I am gonna stop you!
I agree. While I think all the characters are lovable to the latest episodes, I miss Camille and DI Richard Poole very much.
