HILARIOUS!

My God, I haven't laughed so hard at a film in ages! I just discovered Kristoffer Borgli's sick sense of humor and I'm in love! If you know of any other movies like this one (that make fun of vapid narcissist attention whores), PLEASE list them! I live for this shit.

I managed like 35 min. This is just too foreign.
Also the french language is distracting. I don't speak french. Its looks so dire overseas, uninteresting countries like Europe, lacking in culture and very underdeveloped. We have won the lottery by being born in the US.

reply

You're kidding, right? First of all the movie isn't French, it's Norwegian. And you clearly don't get out much if you think Europe lacks culture. Speaking of Norway: They're consistently ranked among the happiest people on earth and rank much higher on that list than the U.S. does. You have to be a troll.

I saw this film today and I am right there with you. I loved this.

If you have not already seen it, "The Worst Person In The World" is another Norwegian movie that this reminded me of. It is more drama than comedy but has some similar elements.

I found out after seeing this that the same director made Dream Scenario. And another one called Drib that I just put on my watch list.

reply

Yea--I was so looking forward to seeing Dream Scenario since it was quite highly rated and from the same writer/director. Unfortunately I found that movie to be a letdown. It had a few humorous 'making fun of millennials/Gen Z'ers' moments but it didn't go nearly far enough with those elements as it should have or could have IMO. The rest of the movie just didn't do anything for me.

I watched The Worst Person in the World last night thanks to your recommendation. I definitely saw the similarities but Sick of Myself is still the more entertaining film IMO...it's highly re-watchable! TWPITW on the other hand was too depressing to want to watch again.

reply

agree on both those which i also watched after finding this. do you have any other recommendations?

reply

Have you seen the Fyre Festival documentaries? There's one on Hulu called Fyre Fraud and one on Netflix simply called Fyre. They're full of schadenfreude for these vapid "influencerrrr" types!

Also, Triangle of Sadness was a fun watch!

reply

Maybe my fav film since happiness or your friends and neighbours. Haven't laughed so hard years!

reply
