Beautifully done film!!

I think this movie was incredibly beautiful and subtle. Not what I expected at all.

I agree, I can't believe it only has a 5.6.

I agree. This is not a film for those looking for your typical zombie film. This is a movie about human character and to savor every moment in life - no matter how small. I think that Wade wanted Maggie to live her last days with love and recalling fond memories and let her know that she is loved and will be missed. It also shows in flashbacks the terror that Maggie went through that caused her to end up as she did. The mistake she made in probably being a rebellious teenager and going on her own, only to be infected. If she had stayed home she would not have gotten infected. And to be around her friends and knowing they will go on to have long lives and she is going to die. So she has to deal with regret - which is a terrible thing to have at such a young age. But she also shows responsibility and the maturity in knowing at the end that it was over and to spare her father the horror of having to make the decision on how she will die - by his hand or the injection. In the end it was her decision, albeit the last conscience one she would and could probably make. I think it was a great film that was totally over-looked and under-rated.

I'm also baffled by the critics reviews. To some degree I can understand how someone who was expecting a zombie movie would be disappointed by this, but a lot of critics lambasted this movie and called it boring. They've even argued that Arnold didn't have the range to pull this off, but I couldn't disagree more. I thought the performances were excellent and I was particularly surprised and pleased by how well Arnold delivered his character.

Arnie doesn't have range, he was outclassed by almost everybody in the film, most particularly by Abigail Breslin. Arnie as usual spoke in the same monotonous way as he always has done, which is fine for action movies but in a drama like this just doesn't cut it. If it wasn't for AB's performance, the film would have got a much lower score.

That's why most of us found it to be refreshing yet riveting. It came out of left field and hit the right mark
