Creepy movie! (spoilers)

How many of us could live under the same roof with a slowly-turning zombie loved one?

Here me out: I sympathise the movie was showing us the deep-loving relationship between Arnold's character and Maggie and I know most people don't turn their backs on family members no matter what their situations are. You're there for family and family is there for you.

However, what crept me out the most was when Maggie was changing more and more and then we'd be shown the overnight scenes. Can you imagine waking up and seeing an infected family member staring at you with their white eyes? Especially considering the weird stuff they get up to. It boggles the mind.

Even if they're family, I'd rationalise that they are "slowly-turning* into a zombie and will not be a "loved one/family member" for much longer and will pose a threat to myself and humanity.

Even the step-mum was getting antsy around Maggie (i.e. grabbing scissors).

FYI: I only watched the 2nd half of this movie, so I'll try to watch all of it sometime. I really liked the setup of this movie and it was very interesting.

I think about this from a different perspective:

What if this was a family member suffering from brain cancer perhaps, or dementia, or mental illness. The story and feelings involved would be very similar. Or for that sake, drug addiction and you would have to wittness your child disappearing right in front of you and people you know would demand actions that you as a father wouldn't want to take.

I could easily see these scenarios as plausible. For me the movie is about otherness and unevitability.

Beautiful and sad film with great acting and script. Deserves a far better fate than it got.
