How is Steinfeld not even nominated?

Unfortunately, this movie didn't get any presestablished buzz like La La Land. I don't know of this playing at any film festival, so any benefits Edge of Seventeen would have gotten through the exposure escaped them.

It has to explain why Woody Harrelson (2X prior nominee) didn't nominated either.


Why do they give out letter jackets to marching band? It's not a sport! We all know it!

Hailee Steinfield for this and Amy Adams for Arrival both deserved noms, far over the likes of Meryl Streep for Florence Foster Jenkins (Meryl Streep is probably the greatest actress of our time, I'm not saying that-- just she doesn't need yet another nomination for a mediocre film that won't win).

It's awful that is movie was overlooked.
However Emma Stone was amazing in La La Lad, so if anyone's going to win this award if those two aren't nominated, it should be her

Generally speaking, a movie needs to make money for the nominations to come. Not always, but that definitely hurt her chances here.

Steinfeld was channeling her inner Emma Stone all through this!
