City At War as the grand finale
I'm thinking that City At War would make an awesome grand finale to this series when it comes time to lower the curtain, as it were. For those who may not be familiar with the turtles' beginnings, City At War was a massive thirteen part story arch that ended the first volume of the original comic book by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird. The story line was way dark though so some slight toning down would be in order, but With a little thought and the eventual introduction of the Foot Elite (*crosses fingers*) they should be able to pull it off. The story arch appeared in the 2003 animated series but was thrown in way to early, was to short, included Baxter Stockman as a character even though he only appeared in issue #2 back in the comic book and wouldn't show up again until volume 2 (post City At War) and had all the different factions of New York's criminal underworld fighting for dominance (The Foot, Purple Dragons and Mafia) while in the comic it was only amongst the recently shattered factions of the Foot Clan. Of course the series would require that the Shredder be killed (perhaps as Super Shredder?!) in order to lead up to these events but it might be workable somehow. What do you guys think, should they use City At War as the big finish? What are some ideas that do you guys have?
