Mystique is Nightcrawler's mom so she must have gotten pregnant and given birth sometime between the events of First Class and Days of Future Past. Why do the films never address this plot detail? Were they saving it for if Jennifer Lawrence had gotten pregnant in real life?
shareActually this movie could have been the perfect opportunity to incorporate the birth of Nightcrawler into the series. Mystique could have been pregnant in this movie which would be another factor for her leaving at the end and choosing not to shoot. It also would match up with Nightcrawler’s age in X2.

shareI would guess early 30s based on his age in Apocalypse. I haven’t seen the X-Men movies in a while but aren’t there scenes where Mystique acts motherly to Nightcrawler but never admits that she gave him up as a baby? Also Azazel is Nightcrawler’s dad, so it would have been nice if there were a movie that explored his relationship with Mystique. Maybe she had rebound sex with him as a way to show she was mad at Magneto or Beast and make them jealous but it led to her pregnancy.
