‘The Batman’ Described As ‘Complex’ & ‘Controversial’ Following Test Screening

Taking to Twitter, Awards Ace editor-in-chief Erick Weber revealed that a source of his has seen The Batman. His source compared the DC project to several drama and mystery films, notably The Silence of the Lambs and Zodiac, both films that happen to feature serial killers.

The source also described the film as both “controversial” and “complex”. It was clear from the trailers that the grounded version of Bruce Wayne would put some people off, especially after Batman was last seen battling parademons in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. It remains to be seen just how controversial the film proves to be, especially when Weber’s source states that the film will be discussed “endlessly”.

It’s only a flop if it doesn’t make a profit. With a budget of $100 million, and maybe an extra $50 million in marketing, $750 million worldwide isn’t bad at all.
