Somehow, the way they shoot this movie, just doesn't give me the life threatening of heat as movies like "Lawrence of Arabia", "The Kingdom" or "Tears of the Sun". I know I'm comparing a entirely different class of movies, but those actually gave me that danger of heat like the blast of the sun, the burning heat that flush down your lung, the sweat that constantly run down your chest... In "247°F", characters didn't sweat much until very late in the sauna, and when they sweat they just "wet" and not "dripping sweat", their hair and clothes weren't that wet, and the CG air current just make it look worst.

I think the visual effect would be better if it took place in a steam room rather than sauna.

I agree, they could have shot this movie in a better way to make you feel like you were in that same situation (mentally, at least. Obviously not physically...).

As a filmmaker, I know that there are tons of techniques they could've done to give a better vibe of how hot it was getting, and also with Scout's claustrophobia. I know that if I were in there, I'd feel claustrophobic too, and I have a fear of over-heating, similar to this type of situation. Yet, I didn't feel that while watching this movie.

There are different lenses they could've used for the camera, different angles they could've used, more special effects (besides the cheap CGI heatwave they had going on around the furnace), and most importantly, better editing. This movie's editing was really weird and I didn't really enjoy it, but they could've edited in a better way to make you feel more claustrophobic, and also feel like they're slowly deteriorating away by the heat.

Hmm.
