I'm in the US watching on PBS.
It's season 2 for us but i know this is like season 5 or 6 for the UK. We're in the semi finals now and i was really surprised at this week's elimination. I guess the one who was saved is a judges' favorite.
I kind of wish Glenn was still around. He really brought a lot of humor to the competition.

Glenn had a terrible weekend, and I don't really see how he could have stayed.
It's Series 4 by the way; we've just finished Series 6 in the UK.

Judges love Ruby. She's a great baker but had a bad week this week. I didn't agree with this week's elimination.
I totally agree that compared to the others Glenn wasn't as good a baker. I just found his personality very entertaining and i miss his comments about himself and his bakes. He seems like a great guy and a pretty decent baker... just not as good as the finalists.

I liked Glenn too. I liked Ruby at first but her woe-is-me attitude has gotten on my nerves. As for her being a favorite of the judges, I don't know about that... their preferences seem to change from week to week. They've criticized Ruby for her lack of confidence and they've criticized Frances for going for style over substance. I remember Mary saying during one of the shows that she and Paul have to make their decisions about elimination and Star Baker based solely on the 3 bakes from that weekend and not what the bakers have done before then. So even if someone's been doing great from the start but has one bad weekend, they're most likely going to be eliminated.
I didn't agree with this week's elimination either (and evidently neither did the baker who got the reprieve). I already know how the final goes because I watched it on YouTube a couple weeks ago but I'm still excited to watch it on TV (I really don't like watching movies or TV shows on my computer screen but sometimes that's the only option available).
Between Becca & Ruby-I would have sent Becca home as well. Ultimately it comes down to what the items taste like. They didn't like Becca's(obviously we can only take their words on that😡). Becca should have done something with the Stilton(add a little herbs to it). Remember how they are always going at Frances, looks over taste. This should give them a hint that taste is what will win.
