What I like most about the show...

...is that it's all about the food. Most American cooking shows (and, to be fair, Gordon Ramsey shows) are full of boasting, trash talking, and a "win at all costs" attitude. You get the feeling that the contestants on TGBBS would actually feel bad about advancing if they didn't feel they were worthy. That may just be false modesty, but it's refreshing nonetheless.

Completely agree. I've said on this board before that I love how everyone just seems dignified and genteel, especially when compared to the glut of "reality" shows here in the US. Everyone I've seen on all of the seasons of the show have seemed like genuinely nice people who obviously want to win but don't badmouth anyone in order to better their own chances. The infamous "Bingate" scandal involving Iain's Baked Alaska was apparently a huge deal in the UK but it would barely have been a blip here. It amazes me that the competitors are just home bakers and not professionals (at least as far as I know) but they willingly put themselves through that kind of pressure for 10 weeks for a chance to win no money at all, just a decorative plate and the title.

I hope this show continues for years to come because it's a breath of fresh air. I love that they do their baking in the big tent on that beautiful lawn, I always get a chuckle out of Mel and Sue, I respect Paul and Mary (it took a while for me to warm up to Paul but I'm there now), and I've really liked nearly every baker I've seen on the different seasons. It bothers me that I'm not going to have another episode to watch this Sunday but I recorded this one and the one PBS aired last year so I can watch them whenever I want.

This is by far the best food competition on TV. I will miss it so much....may have to check out past seasons on You Tube! And can I say that I loved when they introduced the contestant's parents that they listed their mother's as "Mum."

This was total class all the way: dedicated contestants, caring judges, high class sportsmanship. Love, love, love this show.

It's like watching gymnasts or other competitions of great skill. I know I could never do it, but it's impressive to see someone pull off amazing and artistic creations, that obviously taste good!

Well done, TGGBS!!! See you next season!
