Who's complaining?! I haven't seen anything remotely like that on this board.

And as far as I knew, Season 6 hasn't wrapped up yet but if it has, you really shouldn't post a spoiler in your reply without putting "SPOILER" in your thread title. If the winner is who you say it is, I'm fine with it.

I haven't seen any complaints either. I've watched the final and I won't say who won, but I'd have been happy if it had been any of them. I think this year has been the closest I can remember. I'll only say that the winner deserved it.

I've watched Episodes 1-9 (hopefully Episode 10 will be uploaded to YouTube this Sunday and I'll be able to watch it link-free). The bakers who are left at this point are Nadiya, Ian, and Tamal. Of those 3, I'm fine with any of them but there's always been something about Ian that just didn't sit well with me. He seems like a nice enough guy, I guess, but there's just something I can't explain that bothers me about him but if the OP is wrong and he's the one who ends up winning, congrats to him. I'd prefer Nadiya or Tamal though.

I think the thing about Ian is that he's a typically self-deprecating Brit and that can sometimes come across as being a bit disingenuous. But I think he's genuinely both sure and unsure of himself at the same time. Nadiya and Tamal seem more straightforward - they both come across as less confident and that makes them more appealing. At least to me it does.

Maybe that's it. I've never actually disliked Ian but there's just been something about him from the beginning that's rubbed me the wrong way.

I hope now that it has been nearly a week I can talk about this...
I agree completely that Nadiyah was a very worthy winner and am just thrilled about it.
I don't see PC as having anything to do with it.
It was a very close final and they were all in with a chance - but Nadiyah just showed her strength across all three challenges.
On top of that she seems a genuinely nice person.
Good for her and her family.

I was finally able to watch the final last week and I was really happy for Nadiya. Her reaction to winning was priceless! She couldn't stop crying long enough to say anything and when they put her in front of the camera by herself holding her flowers and the winner's plate, she was STILL crying but the way she pointed to the plate and then to herself was absolutely adorable and just so Nadiya. And Ian and Tamal seemed genuinely happy for her, which wasn't a surprise (the bakers on these shows are so nice). I loved when Tamal jokingly said that Nadiya was going to be impossible to live with now.

I just love this show and hope it continues for many years to come. I wonder if the people in the UK love it as much as we here in the US do? I'm guessing they must since it's been on for 6 years now. I don't know if they have a Nielsen-type ratings system there like we do here but if people didn't like the show, they'd probably stop filming them. I wish I could buy DVD's of all of the seasons but the BBC (the only place I can even find them) says they're not available for sale outside the UK. It would be great if PBS would air all of them back-to-back and not just put on one season in the fall and make us wait another year for the next one.

I'm also watching it on PBS now but all of the episodes were posted on YouTube last year (I'm sure they've since been taken down). I hate watching any video longer than 5 minutes on my computer but for this show, I was willing to make the sacrifice because I'm hopelessly addicted to it and knew I couldn't wait the several months it was going to take for PBS to air it.

To be fair about the winner being spoiled, the OP did put "SPOILER" in the thread title shortly after his/her initial post. Unfortunately, there's nothing in that thread title that lets unsuspecting people know that the winner's name will be contained in that initial post. The title refers to political correctness, not the outcome of the competition. The OP should have worded his thread title accordingly or made an entirely new thread about the results. It's not the first time spoilers have been posted on an IMDB board and unfortunately, it won't be the last time. We just have to hope that people will be respectful of their fellow posters and in most cases, they are.

The problem is with ITV & PBS. We in the US get these shows 6 months to a couple years later. So beware if you're watching any other British series & coming to IMDB.

I'm in the US just watching the Season 3 episodes now. But I've known for months who the winner is because I read it while looking for/reading articles on Season 2. Still fun to watch though.

I don't trust people who don't like pets and I don't trust people who pets don't like.

I've never minded spoilers for this or any other show. In fact, I actually enjoy the show more when I know ahead of time what happens because I pay more attention and really focus on the person who's going to be eliminated, just to see if I can figure out what went wrong. And if it's a show where I don't like the person who's getting eliminated (it's never happened on GBBS but this applies to a show like "Survivor"), it just makes it that much more delicious to watch!!

I do realize I'm probably in the minority about knowing spoilers so I always make sure to use a spoiler markup in the post itself or in the thread title. I sometimes even overcompensate by adding something like "SPOILER BELOW" and then going down several lines (leaving a big empty space in the reply box) before using a spoiler markup. That way, anyone in that thread has plenty of warning and if they get spoiled, it's their own fault.

Americans make a big deal out of this sort of thing. On the show, the race and ethnicity of contestants is rarely, if ever, mentioned. The show seems to be color-blind, which is as it should be.
