I knew the answer to your question had been posted by someone a while back but it took me a little while to find the right thread... here it is:

Thank you. I looked for the answer but I didn't see it addressed in the current offerings.

It's filmed at a different location every year. Usually it's a stately home's grounds. That's the thing with the tent, they are portable and also they echo the county fair/fete look that's part of the show's theme. And no, there is no cash prize for the winner. Jo who won the second series was awarded the strangest and ugliest trophy I ever saw.
