Yes, Enemy Mine is very similar in theme, except it is in a sci-fi setting in space.

Dennis Quaid, makes a great performances in that one. When I saw it for the first time a couple years ago, it felt like it still held up in quality even though it is from 1985. And now it is available on HD/Blue-Ray. If you liked "Into the White" you will surely like "Enemy Mine".

Also a remembrance to "All quiet on the western front" in which the lead soldier fight his enemy and had emotional moment when he killed him and mourned for his death due to the war. They could be friends in peaceful time just like the story in "into the white.

Bordering on Bad Behavior (2014) is a entertaining one with pretty much the same plot but set in the middle east
