If someone describes it as a black shadow, IT'S A BLACK SHADOW

Way too much artistic license taken with this show in season 3 and 4, it's completely over the top, am I supposed to believe that every haunting in America now is a reiteration of Jeepers Creepers? Give me a break. And there are too many jump scares. Less is more when it comes to these. I thought we all knew that by now.

Season 1 and 2 at least had SOME plausibility. A haunting is supposed to have some mystery to it. We don't know how this phenomenon happens if it really happens at all, so I think it would be common sense to keep some sort of subtlety. If a witness describes seeing a black shadow, it's a black shadow. An unexplained errant shadow is scary by itself. I don't need the goofy demonic facial prosthetic and jump scare.

You're absolutely right. The reason people are experiencing normalcy bias, is exactly because 'jump scares', entities in every window/doorway etc., are all far too overused, in this third season!

If there is a 4th season, they should get back to basics - enough of the jump scares, and trying far too hard to keep the audience entertained (which falls on its face) so that when something scary eventually... and really does happen - it is then perceived as such.

We all know, in real hauntings, months can go by without so much as one unexplained shadow appearing, never-mind anything else.

And, those who say they should take a look overseas, not just in the US, for inspiration, are also right on the mark too.

Sandwiched between The Principle of Mediocrity & Rare Earth Theory, you should see The Fermi Paradox

agreed. everything now looks like it is straight out of a horror film, which ironically makes it much less believable.

one of the things i find funny is how in all of these shows the houses are so dark and only lit by old dirty lamps that emit hardly any light.

I am a skeptic and a very rational-minded person. However as a kid I believe my childhood home was haunted. And as you pointed out 'incidents' could range from a couple a week to then nothing for months or years. Also, not everyone in the house has to be affected by the paranormal / believe in it. And yes, I saw the shadows you were talking about it and you are right it wasn't a monster or anything like that, but just a pitch black shadowy mass in the loose shape of person. that happened a few times, and oddly enough most of those times were in a very well lit room. The main thing I felt growing up relating to the ghost stuff was that feeling of being watched. that happened very frequently, but for the most part incidents like shadowy figures or objects being thrown (I experienced that twice) happened rarely and sporadically.
