Gwen's death

Starting with the fall and everything to the end of this movie is cool. Not for or against the movie in any way,but the last 10-15ish minutes kinda makes me wish we had a part 3

...and they mostly come at night.Mostly.

The Comic Book Moment: The most important event in Peter Parker's life beside's Uncle Ben's shooting, the death of Gwen Stacy was the point where Spider-Man really matured. The event itself was caused by the Green Goblin, who captured Spidey's girlfriend and threw her to her death. Peter caught her, but after celebrating his quick reflexes discovered her neck had been snapped in the process.

For years debate raged as to what actually killed her - was it the shock of the fall or whiplash from Spidey catching her - but it was eventually concluded by the writing staff that it was indeed Peter's actions. Crushing.

The Movie Version: After getting alluded to in the finale of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man (with Mary Jane instead of Gwen), Marc Webb did Stacy's death head-on in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. All the key elements are there - a vengeful Green Goblin (albeit Harry Osbourne vintage), a deadly fall and Gwen's even wearing the same jacket - but the cause of death is changed; here Peter doesn't grab Gwen in time, with his expanding hand webbing not stopping her head smacking the ground.

Did The Change Work? No, not really. The thunk as Gwen hits the ground is pretty laughable, but it's what it signifies that's so problematic - it absolves Peter of all blame and makes it a case of being too late, rather than a problem with his interference. The same inevitability element is there, but direct responsibility is taken away from our hero.

Gwen 'thunking' on the concrete is...laughable?? How old are you?

Why do I get the sense that you're still struggling with puberty.

When we're thinking about our own brain, would that be a mental paradox??

For Amazing Spider-man 3, they could have done something different from the older stories and, at the same time, use something from the newer books by having Gwen come back as Spider-Gwen.
