Add on of course it being to stuffed and overcrowded with plots. But it's tone is so different from ASM. ASM had a realistic type tone to it with real emotions and personalities . This one had over hammy characters it became fantasy. The score was also very different from James horners charming score and the film was shot in digital and not film like ASM. Everything looked more animated . It felt like Sony disliked ASM. So they went back to a Hammy animated tone like SM1 and 2 but they overdid it. SM1 and 2 still felt decently realistic .

Screw up ASM was shot digital and ASM 2 was shot film

The tones are different, that was bad but I think part one tone should've been how this one was because that movie was very bland.

As far as shot in digital vs film, I can't tell the difference to be honest.
