So Sony can still use characters from Spider Man comics.

to movie adaptations, but they can't use Spider Man himself right?

Huh?

Are you not aware that there is a new Spider-Man movie being released by Sony next summer and the odds are pretty high that Spider-Man will appear in that movie?

I know that, but I'm talking about other characters\villains in the Spider-man comic lore. Sony still can adapt solo movies for example Venom, wihtout connecting him to Spidey, right?

Yes they can still use Spiderman . They sold it back to be joint owners so Spiderman can appear in avengers but Disney can't do solo remake of Spiderman as they still have rights to that . They lost slot of money on amazing spider Man . Not surprised like the Spiderman suit was horrible at times it looked like he was just stuck on the screen with everything else added in
