Ähh... Bill Cipher??? Maybe Spoilers

I just finished watching first season, and I have some questions...

Maybe because I´m not from the US and we here in Europe grow up with differend things around us, thats why I´m feeling like I´m missing something here.
Is Gideon ment to represent one of this crazy sekts (at last from our point of view) you sometimes her about, like the US has a thousend of free churches..
And more important, what is Bill Cipher representing? Like, its said he is a kind of deamon, and I have no problem with that, but why is he resembeling the Eye of God? Or the Eye of Providence you see in amarican movies. I know that the Eye of Providence is sometimes conected with the Iluminati and things like that, so what is it doing in a "kids" show? Or am I on the totaly wrong way?
If Alex Hirsh is atheist or against any religions thats fine with me, its his own choice, but is he meking it here like the deamon side or am I going nutts?
I´m really confused, I like Grunkel Stan, Soos and Wendy and I love Dipper and Mabel, they remind me of my brother and me when we were little, we are not twins and stil.

Coud someone please help me?

I wouldn't say Gideon's character was influenced by a church branch, but maybe a cult. He kind of reminds me of the stereotypical televangelist, but not in a way that demeans religion if that makes sense, I think it was more of a design choice than anything else.

As for Bill Cipher, personally, he made me think of the pyramid with the eye on it that's on the back of our one dollar bill. I believe some people think that that symbol has something to do with the Illuminati, but I could be wrong, I don't know much about them. His appearance might have been influenced by stuff thought to be Illuminati symbolism, but I think it might have just been to add a sense of mystery and isn't supposed to actually tie into it. Again, I'm not an expert in these fields, but that's how he came off to me.

As for Alex Hirsch's religion, I believe he's Jewish, but that's all I know.
