Love this show-Hate Soos

Does anybody else just really, really dislike Soos? All the other characters are charming and funny. This is is great at comedy but for some reason they just try to hard with Soos and his idiotic characteristics. It feels forced where all of the other humor seems natural. Not to mention his voice is too over the top and artificial.

You gotta love Soos.

Nah, I love Soos. The only character I could do without is old man Maguckett. His shtick has gotten pretty old at this point.

I love him XD the way he says "YES!" cracks me every time

Usually I hate forced, over the top stupidity in a character but I like it in Soos. I feel it's because he also able to show responsibility at some points.

reply

Despite his man-child brain farts, Soos can be a responsible guy. He protects the twins from danger at times, and he seems competent at his job (to a degree at least). Plus, he's just hilarious to watch.

He's like a Hispanic Ernest P. Worrell; competent at his job, but has a fluctuating mentality at everything else.

Usually it's Kristen Schall's voice that's the least liked.

Really? She was born to voice cartoon characters.

reply

First, it's 'Schaal', not 'Schall'. Second, she's one of the most prolific voice actresses in Hollywood currently. Her works include the likes of Toy Story, Despicable Me, and Shrek. So you clearly have no idea what you're talking about.

You don't need to remind everyone of what she's been in: she sounds almost exactly the same in every role she's cast.
Sure it's a good voice, but after hearing her in Bob's Burgers, Gravity Falls and Adventure Time it's clear that she's a one-trick pony; she has the range of a banana peel.

No, I have to say I quite like him, I think the writers are clever enough never to have his stupidity to over the top without providing him was other more reedeming moments so he doesn't come across as to big an idiot.

Plus he's not as stupid as he first seems, he can even be reasonably sharp on a good day.

Yes. I can't stand him. I hate his voice and I hate the stereotypical forced stupidity.

reply

I don't HATE him but he is my least favorite character. I find him a bit like a stereotypical cartoon like you said where almost everyone else (maybe with the exception of McGucket) feels very real.

reply

Omgooooooosh! Are you guys kidding me? I HATE THE COPS!!! Now THEY Definitely are Too much for me. Their dialogue is funny sometimes, but I'm otherwise annoyed by them. And the black one sounds like he's perpetually choking on like gravy or something. He's got what Patton Oswald called like fat talk or something like that. And the white one is actually dumber than "old man McGucket, local coot." Soos is alright in my book. I like imitating him. "Wimp it is!"
But to your credit, he did have to grow on me.

reply

I fail to see how anyone can hate Soos...:(
