Haha well in a way, Stan sort of did since he wasn't himself, but then that was resolved, so yup singing it

people were spitting it around as if it was fact, and someone involved with the show said it would happen. what made you all think that?

That, AND the fact that there was a very very short video released (on Youtube? Can't remember, my daughter showed it to me) of Kristen Schaal (voice of Mabel) in the studio, doing her voiceovers, yelling in a quite upset manner to Alex Hirsch something along the lines of "Oh my God...how could you DO that to Mabel?!?" I and others took that, plus the "which Pines will survive" meme to be an indication that one of the Pines family was going to die, and that it might be Mabel. After the fact of the season finale though, I don't know how I ever could have thought that this would happen in what's ostensibly a family cartoon....I think it was intentional disinfo put out there to get folks on the edge of their seats in anticipation...
