Great for cartoon network, awful for the Disney Channel.

Sadly it is the best show DisneyChannel has to offer. I mean, I love the show really, but it it is not that timeless like Disneys old shows were

The problem is most people just assume the name 'Disney' means Princesses and singing flowers...but it wasn't always that way.
Just look at the first five Disney Animated films, that get darker and a little more intense than most of the stuff nowadays.
To me, 'Gravity Falls' reminds me of the chances Disney Feature Animation took in 2002, when 'Lilo and Stitch' was released. It was so different from what people expected, but it didn't pull punches, and became a diamond in the rough that is often talked of fondly from films of that time.

And if you've seen Big Hero Six, there's a scene where Hiro tries to murder someone in cold blood with the use of Baymax. It's good to see Disney can still be dark.
