I think it should have been longer. There was not enough time for character development. Aside from the general concern for humanity, I didn't feel any connection to or emotional concern for the characters/people who suffered and died in this tragedy. And I think that is a tragedy. Isn't that what this movie was supposed to be about? We didn't know one thing about ANY of the people who actually died. Very sad.

No I agree with the poster who claimed it should've been longer. I didn't see any character development, and then to me it felt like oil rig exploded, people evacuated, some died, end of movie. I left feeling something was missing. It was like they just skipped over everything.
I liked it, but felt it lacked something that some other disaster movies have.

We got a strong sense of Wahlberg and his family, the camaraderie between the workers on the station; I'm not sure we needed a scene of every member on the rig sharing tender scenes with their loved ones before it exploded. I personally wanted to get to the disaster, and it and the suspense leading up to it were masterfully delivered.
