Pretty intense and long but I enjoyed every minute of it. Ryan Gosling was on top form. Was a bit worried going to watch this one as I'm not a big Ryan Gosling fan (because of the movie 'Drive'). My three friends I went to watch this with however didn't enjoy the movie though as they felt it was too long (true) and too slow (also true). But I loved it because of the excellent directing, amazing special effects, soundtracks, strong performances and last but not least the mysteries and twists that surrounded the movie.

How do you give it an 8 if it's too long and too slow?

Long and slow doesn't invalidate the actual enjoyable parts of a movie. Plenty of revered classics are long and slow.

Plus, 8/10 is a full 2 points below 10/10, so if you take off one point for long, and one point for slow, there you have it.

Eh no... It most definitely doesn’t mean that.

I’ve seen plenty of slow movies that didn’t bore me at all.

Eh yes it does. Slow carries negative connotation associated to boredom. The word you're probably thinking of is something like deliberate. Just bc something isn't briskly paced with car chases etc doesn't mean it's slow.

Yup. I for one more than enjoyed it. I was captivated. It’s a magnificent piece of work.
