Which version to watch before the sequel?

I've been pondering this, and I don't wanna wait too long before rewatching the original.

My preferred version is the Final Cut. No unnecessary voice over, no tacked on happy ending that ruin the atmosphere of the film. Some unfinished shots are cleaned up (the background of the dove flying away) and generally it flows the best I think.

I would recommend the original version with the voiceover.

Shall we play a game?

Final cut or Director's cut- both very similar

Which is why I say, watch the Final Cut. It's just a polished version of the Director's Cut.

Go ahead and watch the worst version of it because it will be a nice transition into this garbage.

Thanks for your optimism.

OP, watch the Final Cut.

It's called being sensible.

Considering that the movie isn't even released yet, being sensible would be to keep an open mind and see the movie before deciding if it is good or not.

Final Cut

Theatrical cut ofc since its the one that is canon

Do you think the OP meant 10 months when they said they didn’t want to wait too long to watch the original?
Sorry - just having fun. Final Cut for me please, I never liked the voiceover in the theatrical release of the original and the ‘happy ending’ scene, driving through some nice green landscape didn’t make sense.
