How did they stay on the raft while holding the thermos of winds?

The thermos acted as a jet source pushing them out. It is not that powerful to just blow them off. Unless they were obvious holding it the other way towards them.

It seemed the one holding the thermos was just leaning over the side with nothing that appears to be transferring the propulsion from the thermos to the boat through the holder's body. Otherwise the thermos emitting such magnitude would just propel the holder right off the boat.
