Two scenes being repeated / duplicate scenes

Alright so I've watched this movie twice in two different places.

The first time I though it was a mistake, that two scenes from the first half hour suddenly were repeated later on in the movie, since there didn't seem to be any connection between the scene being repeated and the later storyline where it was done.

I figured I was watching a bad copy.

Watching it elsewhere for a second time and again... those two scenes from the first half hour being repeated later on in the movie. The editing is seamless so I'm starting to think this isn't a mistake and it was done on purpose by the director.

Does anyone understand why? Or did I really just watch two different broken versions of the movie?

I just don't see anything in those scenes that foreshadows or gives away why they need to be shown again later on.

Which two scenes? I just watched it on Netflix and didn't notice any repeated scenes, but more information would be helpful.

I gave up on the movie early but I saw a repeated scene in the short time I watched. It's the scene where the mother is sweeping and then she hears a noise upstairs. It first happens at 7:45 into the movie and then again at 19:33 right smack in the middle of when the couple are in the bathroom and the guy is trying to get frisky with his girlfriend or wife. Op refers to it happening later on so probably multiple glitches in the ripping process.

I watched the downloaded rip of the movies and they were ripped wrong. It even has re-ripped uploads if you got it from a torrent. This is why torrents or rips are not good to watch because you can't trust them to make them or do them right. I even had one movie that was ripped and the sound was just on one side only. Those rippers that upload mess them up all the time. Better to watch rented or buy it.

No more IMDB boards for me!

There's no repeated scene on the Netflix DVD.

I had the same experience.

The scene of the mother seeing the chandeliers shake and Crispian and his girlfriend getting ready for bed were repeated 20 mins and 50 mins respectively.

Weird.

The repeated scenes are from a glitch in a pirate rip.

It's a definite glich because it throws the close captioning off.
