It's understandable why.
This has more clear cut heroes and villains and a narrative that gives one, even with its exaggerations and extravagances, an awakening to a bleak period in American history. "The Hateful Eight", on the other hand, revels in its ambiguities regarding the characters and it's cynical theories regarding the failures of America itself.
Django was average. The Hateful 8 was awful. Tarantino's worst.
