Better than the Reviews

You ever hung out with your friends for a day and video taped yourselves doing dumb s**t? You would then get together later over beers and howl like rabid wolves over the hijinks, while other people who weren't there for the taping wonder what's so funny. That is kind of how Sisters feels. The actors/actresses seem to be having a great time. I'm just not sure the rest of us understand why it was so much fun. We weren't there.

Fey and Poehler are sisters, Kate and Maura Ellis. Kate is the wild, single mom, who never met a good time she didn't like. Maura is the do-gooder who is always looking out for everyone. When their parents, the hilarious James Brolin and Dianne Wiest, sell their childhood home, the sisters race back to clean out their rooms (still full of their childhood crap) and decide to have one last wild party.

The supporting cast is pretty much made up of SNL alumni. Maya Rudolph, Bobby Moynihan, and Rachel Dratch are former classmates. John Cena is great as a drug dealer who sells them cocaine. Ike Barinholtz (who was so goofy on The Mindy Project) plays a love interest for Maura and he actually pulls it off. Their romance is sweet and done well.

If you understand this is just going to be a goofy, raunchy comedy, you won't be disappointed. If you are looking for quality comedy affair, this is not the movie for you.

My memory foam pillow says it can't remember my face. I can tell its lying.
