Did the party sequence really...

I just realized this is a spoiler, but did the party really have to literally be half the movie?

I could see of that's what the whole movie was about, but it wasn't and the it felt like it lasted at least 40 minutes. That's a long time for the narrative to stand completely still.

By the time they got to the point, it lost any semblance of a comedy aside form a few gags tossed in here or there, but honestly, most of what happens could have been summed up in a 5 minute montage.

It was also jarring to see 2 of the funniest people in the industry be so unfunny.

This one was a tough watch.

I feel like the party was the entire movie. Basically NOTHING happened during that sequence, we just kept seeing a bunch of ppl party, wreck the house, mora hitting on thr neighbor, Brenda trying to sneak in, like over and over and over and over....

I was actually with it up until that point, but that section was so plotless and pointless, it killed the movie.

This should have been titled "The Party" instead. At least then most of the meaningless events during that have context.
