shareI second Side Effects & Gone Girl. In the area of kind of darker thrillers, there's an Ashley Judd one that's okay, but kind of in the same tone as this one:

Gone Baby Gone (crime thriller, darker vibe)
The Invisible (supernatural thriller)
You can also go old school with some classic 90s thrillers like:
The Fugitive
Breakdown
They're not in the same vein as The Loft, which goes for more of the eerie/cerebral/dark vibe, but they're fun.
If you want cheesy fun:

This is one of Mark Wahlberg & Reese Witherspoon's first movies.
I'm glad you asked so I can scavenge from this list.
I think the movie put me in mind of The Game. Another Michael Douglas one sort of in that genre is A Perfect Murder.

Brown's Requiem
Most of these are just good mysteries-thrillers in the old-fashioned sense. I've seen a few others more on the order of The Loft such as Columbus Circle, Exam and Faults but didn't really enjoy the twists. But they probably fall more into the category of The Loft so you might like them.
