Steve Schmidt should have dumped Palin as soon as he heard her utter this crackpot phrase. He (and the rest of McCain's staff) should have realized they were dealing with a superstitious nut case! At least Woody Harrelson got a "what the *beep* look on his face when she said it.

Dude, you're missing the whole point of her pick:
- She was picked to rally the base, NOT because she was competent. The Republican base IS full of religious crackpots who eat that s"#$ up by the truckload.
- However they expected her to SEEM competent and restrained enough to not scare away independents and become a liability and national laughing stock. They failed to realize that she was not acting (playing for the base, she REALLY believes her own BS, unlike say Reagan who WAS indeed a great actor) and the apparently abysmal competency litmus tests to gain Alaska's governorship.

Dude, EVERYBODY has many WTF looks whenever they interact with her for more than 5 minutes. One of my delights is precisely watching the faces they make (like in W when Bush says live on TV "Is our children safe?" and the guy playing Karl Rove right behind him can't help but cringe right there on camera)
