I met Beth tonight

I didn't really get a chance to talk to her, because she was getting into a cab, but right now she's staring in an Off-Broadway play, called "A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Gynecologic Oncology Unit Of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Of New York City" which really rolls off of the tongue. Anyway after the show, I was hanging around for a bit, and was able to get an autograph on my ticket, which was cool. She looks shorter in person, but is very attractive.

As for the show, it was very funny, she plays a foul mouthed stand-up comedian who's mother is in said oncology unit. Lots of inappropriate humor, and she said the f-word about 200 times in 1.5hrs.

That sounds all-right. Apparently, it was a pleasant little meet, you were happy to say hello and she was cool with a fan. Nice.

For whatever it's worth... if you want to discuss it great or if you don't simply do not reply, but I wonder about these little meetings with famous folks sometimes.

I mean, I've done it too. I've briefly met a few actors and sports stars and looking back it's always a harried encounter. We compliment them, they say thanks and then off they go.

We've seen them on our favorite shows or whatever and have our feelings and opinions about them but they've never seen us in their entire lives.

We feel like we know them even though we really don't know them as real people and they don't know us at all so it's simply two total strangers meeting for the first time.

I just... I guess I'm just really making a random point here that it ends getting awkward for me to meet them and I bet it feels awkward for them too.

As I've gotten older I've actually passed on a couple of chances at saying hello to famous folks. I've seen them, I could have wandered over, but I just don't bother anymore.

And dang it, I don't mean to take away from your meeting with Beth. I just wonder how it felt for you? In retrospect, are you glad you said hello? Was it a positive experience for both of you? I suppose if it was, that's all that matters.

And to bring up the dark side of fame, in the recent wake of the Christina Grimmie tragedy I am kind of amazed you were simply able to walk right up to her as she was grabbing a taxi. Did she have security folks with her? (It's a shame entertainers need security but it appears that they do....)

I any event, peace to you. Thanks for reading my rambling reply.

I know she wasn't feeling that well. According to her Instagram, she has a sinus infection and a double ear infection. So she probably just wanted to get back to her apartment.
There was a guy with her, not sure who it was, possibly her boyfriend. But yea it was cool. I'm glad I got to do it.

That's cool. If they are friendly enough to give a signature or take a photo, I consider them good to their fans. Not every meeting is going to be a long one. But, they should be gracious if the fan is being cool about it. (Not freaking out or being rude themselves)

I have never met a big star like Beth, but have met many Australian actors over the years. For some reason I've had a couple of jobs where we happened to get a lot of actors in. It made it easier having a reason to talk to them. They could tell I knew who they were, but they were cool about it. I struck up a friendly customer relationship with a couple of them.
