The supporting cast has run their course....except.

Oleg, still hilarious and one of the best things on the show. I've never found Earl all that amusing, his I'm old, I've done drugs, I was born before the wheel was invented schtick got played out several seasons ago. Sophie hasn't been funny on a regular basis since Season 1 and Han is just kinda there to give the other characters someone to make fun of.

The waiter from Season 3/Luis had great promise but they just faded him out after a handful of episodes. Would have loved to see how his crush on Oleg played out.

I agree Oleg is the best. Early and Han are barely in the story, and they should have kept Luis. I think the one Amish boy that stayed in NYC should come over to visit.

They've had some funny one-episode/scene guest stars, too. The girl who worked at the cell phone store was a memorable one. The woman who gave Caroline her STD results was funny. The girl who greeted people at that bar they went to where Caroline told her story on stage was hilarious, too. And I'm still waiting for Alec Mapa (who played the wannabe actor/hotel manager in California) to make a surprise comeback as Han in the movie version of Caroline's life.

reply

Sandra Bernhardt was pretty funny too.

I liked the Robert DE Near-Hos in the Pretty Problem in season 1, as well as the one in the bakery who whined the cupcakes weren't pretty enough.

Valerie Harper as Nola the photographer.

I also loved the Cashier Tanya in the episode where Caroline gets obsessed with using coupons.

reply

Love the lady in the one where they are office temps. The lady who said for instance

OH! And the two flight attendants (played by Caroline Rhea and Laura Kightlinger) were a lot of fun, too.

reply

I loved her.
"I didn't get your name"
"That's cuz i didn't give it to you"

I still find Sophie funny. Even just as recently as her jamming the baby carriage through doorways had me cracking up.

The best supporting character was the airhead rich girl who employed Max as a part time nanny to her twins Brad and Angelina in the first season. I think her name was Peaches.

I've always hated the Three Amigos, Earl, Oleg and Han. Earl is the least odious of the three.

I hate Sophie with a passion.

In fact I have to really question why I even watch this garbage.

reply

Yup once Sophie starting getting a bigger role on the show that's when the quality dipped fast

I wish the artist Nola Anderz (played by Valerie Harper in #4.13 "And the Great Unwashed" which originally aired on Feb. 23, 2015) would have been a recurring character and perhaps a romantic interest for Earl. Valerie's talents are vast.
