The one thing I am truly sick of...

Sophie. Every time she comes in and the canned "WOOOOOOO!" happens. I'm just sick of it. Doesn't everyone know she's only famous for being "Stifler's mom" in the American Pie franchise?

Maybe it's just me, but I am not impressed with her.

reply

I'm watching it right now, and I can add to the things that annoy me about her...

'I'll be in ma boooooooth'. Not funny.
'wait a minute, wait a minute'. Irritating.

But yes, the screaming when she enters a room is just ruining the show. And, it stretches to more than one entrance in an episode. At least in Seinfeld, they kept Kramers entrances to one per episode. And, he gave us a little physical comedy to make it worth the squeals!

I know this comes down to personal choice, and many people on this board like it...but I just don't.

reply

I know. I feel you. I don't even find her all that attractive. In fact those who boast of their sexiness are usually the least sexy.

reply

There is not enough space on the Internet to list the things about this show that sicken me.

reply

I can't stand Coolidge. She was good as Stifler's Mom in the first American Pie movie, but was ruined by being exaggerated in the sequels.

She played equally vile characters in high profile shows Sex and the City and Friends. In fact the Friends character could almost have been Sophie had she been Polish, both characters equally deluded about how attractive and amazing they are.

I can't abide this vile excuse of a character.

reply

yes, it is a hold over from bad 70's Television - glad that someone commented on this ...

Where is Princess... fire and music?

reply

I just watched Best In SHow again the other night and she's hilarious. I have to agree her character is kind of annoying ESPECIALLLY the "Hey everybody" I think what REALLY ruins her character is that bizarro accent.
The only time she's funny is when she disses Caroline

"People who live within their means suffer from a lack of imagination" Oscar Wilde

reply

Agreed, my head boils literally ever time she arrives. I thought it will die off after Season 1, no it's continue every single episode

reply

I agree with all the posters. She is definitely annoying.

reply

She started out good, but you're right the screetches from the audience is a little annoying.

And I'm sorry to say, but her bulging gut is a little distracting.

They should not be fitting her in tight dresses where everything sticks out.

reply

You realize, I hope, that she's not supposed to BE hot - she's supposed to THINK she's hot. The show has her dressing in ridiculous, flouncy, garish, too-tight clothes because she loves being noticed, mistaking it for everyone being attracted to her.

I don't particularly like the character, either, but she's intended to be obnoxious, ridiculous, and deluded about her attractiveness. And she does that very well.

reply

I get it, but even there's a limit to how she should look even for TV viewers.

reply

Yes, I do get that, but that's what I'm getting annoyed with. The joke has just gone on too much. At this point, I give the finger to the TV screen whenever she enters and the WOOOOOOO! happens.

reply

YES, me too. I very rarely come here just to complain about stuff like that, but the character was RIDICULOUS in this weeks episode ('and the 80s movie'). I won't blame the actress, rather the material she gets is dreadful. The exaggeration of that stereotype has gone too far for my taste.

reply

PLUS...She's gonna give that baby brain damage....wait, crap.

Kid doesn't have a chance.

Bless Their Heart! In the South, saying that makes talking about someone OK. 

reply

I do not know who is to blame, I had hoped she would die in childbirth but she survived to become worse than ever, all I want is that they get rid of her.

reply

The whole storyline of her having a baby is completely ridiculous she's 55 years old and looks every day of it.

reply

I had hoped she would die in childbirth

I had the same thought.
