I watched the latest episode, then watched a random episode in season 1 straight after, and its noticeable that Max's voice got a lot more whiny and high pitched, and I'm wondering if its for comedic effect or something like that. The difference is palpable. It's really weird to hear her normal voice because I'm so used to her 2BG way of speaking.

shareI wondered the same thing and it sounds like it was a "new idea" to make her funnier. The series was doing very well, so the producers probably thought they should fix something that wasn't broken.
