Considering how many posts you have done on the subject of your love of Roanoke, I don't think my characterization is inaccurate.
Also, I didn't say I wasn't enjoying this season. In fact, in my last post, I said I enjoyed the episode. But I also recognized it for what it was; a procedural filler episode. Like most things in life, two seemingly contradictory things can be true.
As for this being a crossover season...it is, but really only for Coven and Murder House. Those are the two storylines that are essential to the plot of this one. Hotel got a prominent cameo only because one of the witches from Coven needed to be retrieved. But I don't think this is a season where they are going to see how much fan service they can shove in our faces just to show that they crossed over every season.
Hotel was essentially an easter egg. A big one for sure, but an easter egg nonetheless. Easter eggs are just shout-outs. But they are ultimately inconsequential to the main plot. The reference to the Blood Moon was another one, albeit a small one. So while we might get more little easter eggs from other seasons, that doesn't make this year an all seasons crossover extravaganza. If they started throwing in plotlines involving Cult, Asylum, Freak Show and Roanoke, it would essentially be the same thing as the Stevie Nicks scene; an affectation. Besides, I really doubt they are going to have time to do that. Its a short season with, so far, the shortest episodes of any season.
