I feel like this was foreshadowing that pretty much the entire cult will die at the end. Of course that's not shocking on this show, most characters are dead at the end of their seasons. But this episode really seemed to try to drive home the point that that's often the outcome for cult members.

Also, a loose end I'm wondering about, though a few episodes back. I'm wondering if they'll ever explain the gimp in the attic. Because that was just so random. Could easily be nothing, but I'm kind of waiting for a reveal of their identity as someone of more importance to the story.

I am disappointed. Episode 9 aired on Halloween night and they didn't do their usual Halloween special episode with dead people coming to visit. Instead of stupid archival footage of Jim Jones, they could have had Jim's ghost visiting.
This season has had no supernatural elements at all, only human monsters. Kind of bored by now.

I see where you're coming from, and agreed, I was expecting a Halloween theme too. Then again, considering the first episode was set a week after Halloween, that'd be tricky.

There are two episodes left, could go supernatural. I like the supernatural, but I find the lack of it is working here. Works to keep the story grounded since it's meant to be allegorical for our real world. I do miss the supernatural element, but this'll probably be the only season to not have it, plus, if it connects to the other seasons, then it'd be kind of supernatural by default.

I agree - I was hoping for some supernatural elements. Frankly, I'm tiring of this season and "Kai". I am staying till the end, but I am fed up. I think this is far worse than even Roanoke.

I was disappointed it wasn't Halloween themed too! Another poster made a good point about the season beginning on Election night so it would have been after Halloween but they could have done a flashback. One where everyone was already celebrating the Hillary win before their shock...haha.

I did read somewhere that this would be the first season where they were not doing anything supernatural. But they still coulda did creepy, even in one of the characters nightmare or something.

Yeah I had not thought if the date in the story world, it was Halloween in our world but it must be at least after June in the show world because there have been 2 elections- the 2016 presidential election and then the city council election.
A flashback would have been an easy way around that. Maybe have Kai's parent's ghosts visit him. Halloween would also be an exception to the 'no supernatural' elements this season because they could have made it ambiguous like is it really a ghost or is it just Kai's mental illness, if he's the only one who sees the ghosts.

Right or even a vivid nightmare.

Ryan stated there would be no supernatural elements this season. Hence Jesus and his angels on strings.

Let's keep in mind though that was not live happening it was kai telling a story. Was clearly meant to be silly. Hey I love silly but kind of thought it was unnecessary it took me momentarily out of the sinister vibe.
