I've heard all types of anti-Dunham screeds, but I've never been interested to investigate any of the claims. I also never watched "Girls" so she came to this role completely fresh to me.

Considered only for her skill playing Valerie Solanas, I'd say she was wonderful.

I only watched one season of Girls, did not care enough for the show to continue. I can't deny her talent, though.

I think too many people aren't fairly evaluating her for purely superficial reasons.

I thought it was the worst thing of the last 20 years. There is a shot of her when she is crying that is so ugly, so abominable, so ridiculous that I thought it would become a meme.
