I know everyone is sick of this subject but I have to ask, what is Kathy Bates' accent supposed to be? It sounds like three or four different things, depending on what word she's saying, yet English seems to be her first language.

I think Kathy said she wouldn't do the show if she couldn't try a new accent every season.

Yeah, her accents aren't that great, but she does add elements of humor to the show that I appreciate. But honestly, I think it's supposed to be Scottish.

Eh? Sounds nothing like scottish to me. Kathy herself said it was Baltimore accent.

I dont know anyone from Baltimore and have never been so have no idea what it's supposed to sound like. Just going on what she said.

As a lifelong John Waters fan, I can confirm you have no idea what you're talking about and it does in fact sound like a pitch perfect Baltimorean accent.
