It didn't get any for Critics Choice or for the Golden Globes. Even Hotel managed to get in last year! Based off of almost every collective review site, Roanoke was better received than Hotel.. So... What?

Competition. So many miniseries and TV movies this year. Besides, the Globes don't really care about quality anymore. They just care about popularity most of the time. Deadpool was nominated for *beep* sake. Gaga was nominated last year (and won) because she was Gaga. I really liked her performance, but it should have gone to Kirsten Dunst that year.

The Night Manager lost its steam occasionally, but the BBC has quite a reptutation with La Carre's work. It's a very intriguing mystery story. Hugh Laurie plays a great villain.
That being said, I think it's hilarious that AMC is bragging about their award count by also including that show.

So basically Hotel got in on a weak year and Roanoke couldn't get in because it's a stronger year. Makes sense. To the people who say it's because it isn't good, that is simply not true. Objectively speaking, critics liked Roanoke better.

I mean it's not the only show that didn't get any nominations. OITNB, Jouse of Cards, and Empire didn't get any either. All those are great shows too. The competition is too high this year. The Globes always like new things. They have a way better chance at the Emmys.
