What and why? Why did James have sway over it? Where did it come from? Why did it exist? It just felt like it was there for shock value which annoyed me as it was so unnecessary.

shareIt was created when Sally's friends died in the hotel. It represents all the evils of drugs and sex. James controls it because he built the hotel and the demon is part of it. It's meant to punish those who James sees fit, like Sally, so they could do his bidding. Thematically thought it represents how evil addiction is and how it tortures you.

I thought James didn't like them, and that Sally had attracted them to the hotel. Didn't he yell at Sally for her drug use and her bringing them to the hotel? They were totally underused and wasted. And what happened to the guy it attacked, he went to the hospital then that was it lol
