This teaser gives me the feeling that the show is going to be a bit more campy than I had anticipated.

I just found this. It may answer your questions and the camp level.
The feud itself was very campy. A complete and utter cat fight. I hope they show crawford having bricks sewn into her night gown for when Bette had to lift her into bed.

shareOh god the bio of that feud is a must read, gabe. Shrieking spats over one trailer being larger by an inch, or parked slightly closer to the lot. Just mind blowing.

Anyone wanna give me a TLDR of the whole drama?
shareThe show's about the feud between Bette Davis and Joan Crawford behind the scenes of the movie "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?". The two actresses hated each other in real life for a number of reasons before they made a movie together. Apparently it was over a man and because they were both the biggest stars of the day. I'd imagine jealously and professional rivalry.
