the seasons connecting

Something I've thought about before, and now a bit more so, knowing we'll have at least 9 seasons total.

Regarding the seasons connecting, I can see the show ending one of two ways.

A: Things stay as they are now, with some connections, but never any explained larger significance.

B: There turns out to be a sort of big picture that connects them all in a grand way.

Personally, I'm in favor of A. I feel like B would be reaching too much. It would make the show feel like it was taking itself too seriously, in attempting to explain a mythology that isn't really even there. It would just feel awkward and clunky, especially if/when we were inundated with scenes of characters played by the same actor were to meet. Plus, that would be a scheduling nightmare and a logistic/filming nightmare (/opportunity?)

I hope it only stays at small connections like character crossovers. It would actually keep the idea of an anthology series.

The small connections are fine but then I saw speculation that Ben or Dr. Thredson was Gloria's son who was given away or other something like that and groaned. I'm okay with a little crossover but if suddenly everyone was related the whole time that would be a bit much. Especially any connection that clearly wasn't planned at the time and just hastily retconned.

Consider the daffodil. And while you're doing that I'll be over here looking through your stuff.

Fortunately that leak is probably fake.
