the Donner Party
I think that'd be a cool idea. Only problem is Roanoke was heavy on colonists, so that'd risk feeling repetitive.

shareI would love to see a frontier-inspired season. The story itself is pretty terrifying also, though we've already seen cannibals. But they could do it in a different way than in Roanoke.
shareThey could always go another route though. There's always a supernatural bent. They could have something like a wendigo, or Bigfoot, or natives practicing black magic. Something so terrible they felt lying and saying cannibalism would be better.
shareYeah that sounds like a really cool idea. Frankly I'm getting tired of ghosts in this show, no matter how terrifying they were last season, so a Sasquatch sounds pretty interesting. I've always wanted to see a season on Native American myths and legends.
shareHow is that repetitive?

Consider the daffodil. And while you're doing that I'll be over here looking through your stuff.
I just feel like it would be repetitive, because from our more removed historical standpoint, colonists and frontier settlers are fairly similar. I guess it would depend on when. It would feel more repetitive in Season 7 than in Season 9.
shareHow are colonists and frontier settlers similar except they are both not contemporary? Any scenes in Roanoke with colonists were very minimal and most took place in present day (probably for budget reasons). Was it repetitive to have colonists after the flashbacks to Marie Leveau and Mme Lelaurie in Coven?
I'm not not sure I see the horror unless it's heavily dramatized like in Roanoke. Unless someone's making some deal with the devil or ghosts are killing people, that could work.

I guess I more just meant at a glance. Old-timey, making new homes in little-explored places.
