OT: Schitt's Creek

If you have a Prime subscription, and can appreciate some (extremely) dry humor, definitely check this show out!

Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara are the two main characters, so if you've seen any of the Christopher Guest movies you can probably guess the type of humor in the show. It's a Green Acres-type story about a wealthy family who loses everything and has to move to a town that they bought for their son as a joke at one point.

It's pretty by-the-books as far as plot goes, but where the show really shines is in its characters. Eugene Levy's son Dan plays his son on the show as well, and is by far the funniest person (stealing pretty much every scene he's in as the bitchy pansexual fashion-conscious fish out of water). Lots of familiar old SNL faces show up every now and then too. The episodes are half an hour and the seasons are 12-13 episodes so it's a total breeze to binge in a short amount of time.

If you're still on the fence, here's a gif with some very AHS-esque dialog-

I hadn't heard of this. Eugene and Catherine together again😍

I know, right! They've got such amazing chemistry together. Apparently, the reason the two of them weren't in Mascots was because they were up in canada filming this show!

I thought of you the other night when watching Killers. Catherine plays Tm Selleck's wife.

This is on Netflix in the UK and I have watched the first 4 episodes and very good it is too.
It reminded me a bit of Arrested Development.
The guy who plays the son makes my clit pop out.
May have to binge watch the rest this weekend.

'Here, you forgot your axe'.

Have you admitted yet that the writers made 85456 mistakes in season 6?

reply

Wow. How long did it take you to count that many mistakes?
