Madison Montgomery is a badass witch who can move things, to control people's thoughts and what they do, relive dead things, putting things on fire and much more.
Has it been explained how now that Kyle (which she already controlled by mind control) simply could strangel her to death? No logic at all in that.
Anyone who's ever used magic before knows that you have to be able to fully concentrate to control your powers.

If you are under attack and strangled you are as well controlled now do everything in your power to make this stop. She ruled rather simple Kyle before and to now be in shock does not explain away purely survival sense which ought to mean that she would pulvisera Kyle with just a thought.
shareWhat Qrispy said, and Madison didn't know she could do most of the badass things she did until she did them. And even then, it all stemmed from her emotions. She was a young witch and couldn't control her powers like Fiona, for example. Kyle simply took her by surprise.

I thought the point was her powers grew because there was a new Supreme to be named, and since she wasn't the new Supreme, the power boost would wane. I'm also blanking when Madison controlled someone else's actions? I remember Nan doing that.
And yes being in shock/panicking/not being able to concentrate IS a competely reasonable explanation. You not liking it is irrelevant.

I thought her powers were being weakened by Cordelia taking back the Supremacy, that and by her self-doubt, at least.
I don't think the inability to concentrate has much to do with it, at least concerning powers they've already mastered.
I love Coven, it's my favorite season. It's so much fun. But I DO agree with you about what you're saying. There are a few things that don't make too much sense...it's still so much fun I overlook it.
Yeah, Madison should have been able to teleport (or whatever you call it) away from Kyle...or control him and make him stop.
Also...Misty should have been able to come back from hell. She could come back from death...so why not hell?
Earlier in the season they show Madison point her finger at the bus and cause it to flip completely over and crash. Then they show her using a paper clip or something to break into the morgue. Why couldn't she just point her finger at the lock and unlock the door?
Just my observations....it IS my favorite season because it's so much fun...and I love witches...always have, but the story does have some problems.
